چکیده

An improved current-mode CMOS voltage reference derives its temperature independent characteristic from two temperature dependent currents which are summed together into a resistor to generate the reference voltage. A CMOS proportional to absolute temperature (FTAT) current generator using substrate bipolar transistors creates the current that increases with temperature. A CMOS threshold voltage extractor circuit creates the conversely proportional to absolute temperature (CTAT) current that decreases with increasing temperature. The reference operates over a temperature range of 0 to 100°C with a power supply voltage between 3.3 and 7 V. Simulations show that over these conditions, the output voltage varies by less than 1% over the specified temperature range while using less than 75 pA of current.

Fully Differential Current Buffers Based on a Novel Common Mode Separation Technique

In this paper a novel common mode separation technique for implementing fully differential current buffers is introduced.  Using the proposed method two high CMRR (Common Mode Rejection Ratio) and high PSRR (Power Supply Rejection Ratio) fully differential current buffers in BIPOLAR and CMOS technologies are implemented.   Simulation results by HSPICE using 0.18μm TSMC process for CMOS based st...

Current Mode Digital Gates for Mixed Mode Reprogrammable Integrated System

This paper presents some aspects of building reprogrammable system using current mode gates. With this approach it is possible to extend system on a chip solutions into the area of mixed mode applications. CMOS current mode gates consume almost constant current from the power supply and therefore are suitable for mixed mode operations. Contrary to voltage mode digital gates, presented in the pa...

Op-Amps and Startup Circuits for CMOS Bandgap References With Near 1-V Supply

The design of bandgap-based voltage references in digital CMOS raises several design difficulties, as the supply voltage is lower than the silicon bandgap in electron volts, i.e., 1.2 V. A current-mode architecture is used in order to address the main issues posed by the low supply, but the implementation of the operational amplifier and of dedicated startup circuits deserves some attention. Ev...

A Digital Common-Mode Rejection Technique for Differential Analog-to-Digital Conversion

A multibit analog-to-digital converter can achieve high resolution with a lower order modulator and lower oversampling ratio than a single-bit design, but it requires a multibit internal flash analog-to-digital converter rather than a simple comparator. In an implementation with a fully differential analog front end, the flash analog-to-digital converter must quantize a differential voltage rel...
